
The songstress was named d amongst equal movers and change makers such as Ilhan Omar, the first Somali-American to be elected to the US Congress, Sahle-Work Zewde, Ethiopia’s first female president, South African wrestler Cindi Gold, Somalian boxer Ramla Ali, FGM warrior Agnes Pareiyo and others in BBC’s list of “Celebrated African Women” in 2018.
The year 2018 was a good one for “The Lioness of Africa”, from touring Europe to performing on the BBC as well as Sky News; Wiyaala not only gave her fans thrilling and enthusiastic shows, but also used the podiums to advocate for women to love themselves and their skin.
Wiyaala ended the year with her “Lioness Concert” which received great feedback from patrons.
Talk about giving back, Wiyaala went back home to Wa and Funsi where she inaugurated “The Stage” as well as engaged the people in several variety shows.
