OV wins MTN Hitmaker 7, walks away with GHC100,000 recording deal

The 2018 MTN Hitmaker 7th Edition  finally come to an end as female afrobeat musician O V was crowned the winner.

She walked away with GHC100,000 which includes recording, music video production and promotion.

OV becomes the second female to emerge first at the MTN hitmaker after Freda Rhymes won the ultimate prize last year.

Awal Mohammed, who many thought was going to win the competition, came second whiles Amakye took the third position and Erza Tamaa settled for the fourth position at this year’s hitmaker grand finale.

OV could not hide her joy when she was mentioned as the ultimate winner of the night. The night also saw some spectacular performances from past winners and past participants including Kidi, Adina, Fred Rhymes, Kuami Eugene, and others.

She is known in the music circles as OV while her spectacular touch of writing and delivering her verses on her songs earned her the name “Okailey Verse”.

The fast-rising multi talented young artist who was born on December 4th, 1998 attended Ghana Senior High school – Koforidua in the eastern region where she started off as a dancer and later on added singing. Her dancing exploits made her known to schoolmates and the public as “skelebarbs” as she became very popular.
