Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, the member of parliament for Assin Central has been enstooled as the development chief of the lawra traditionalarea, by the lawra traditional council.
He as given the stool name Tengma Naa, and his chieftaincy title as Kennedy Dery Agyapong.
The colourful ceremony was performed by Naa Puowelle Karbo III, Chief of Lawra. Who said the title given was in appreciation and recognition of the good work of the MP in improving the conditions of the needy in society
He further went on to say the MP’s commitment in improving the needs of the vulnerable, including women and children is admirable and a mark of a good leader. The chief added.
Mr. Kennedy Agyapong was dressed in smock garments, a cap, and a walking stickas his staff of office.
In his acceptance speech is quoted as saying:
“I am short of words. The honour done me is overwhelming,” he said.
“Some people are honoured when they die; I have lived to see this day,” he added.
“I know I have hurt a few people with my forthright talk. But I seek to speak the truth, even if it hurts.”
He promised to show up very often to support the development of Lawra municipality. He donated ghc20.000 to support the activities of the area.
