“I felt i was special back in the days; i let fame get to my head.” – Lord Kenya

Lord Kenya “the rap heavy weight champion”, from rap music to preaching the word of God, shocked many for his turn-around in life.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM on Tuesday, the award-winning hiplife artiste, who is currently an evangelist, said being famous caused him a lot in life.

He got to fame through music but could not locate his focal point in life hence “was rather into drugs, alcohol and women.” the born again’ hitmaker said

He told Andy Dosty: “I think during my time I didn’t know anything called trend. I only wanted to be popular and it happened. I felt special but I didn’t know what fame was and I don’t think I handled it well. It got to my head.”

At a point, Lord Kenya said people labeled him to be arrogant because “there were things I could easily do but now I couldn’t do it anymore [after the fame].”

He opined musicians to intensely “watch the friends around them” since “[a] couple of friends who I thought were my friends took advantage of my fame for their personal gains.”

“Who is close? Who is saying I love you? Whoever tells you you’re right all the time don’t love you. Ask yourself why you’re a star. God did that so others can learn from you positively,” he advised.
