According president Akufo-Addo, his government has built 79 factories in various regions under the one district one factory.
The President made this statement while speaking at the AGI’s 60 anniversary celebration that came off in Accra over the weekend.
He mentioned an additional 35 factories were undergoing appraisal by the Trade Ministry and the involved financial establishments
“So far, 79 projects are implemented under the 1D 1F programme. With another 35probing credit appraisal by officials of Trade and industry and the monetary establishments that are supporting the program,” Nana Addo declared.
He further added that his government’s Stimulus Packages have additionally been very beneficial to some troubled local firms.
According to the President, $237 million has to date been disbursed to 16 firms under the stimulant Package.
“We have begun implementing initiatives such as the ‘1-District-1-Factory’ programme, ‘One Region-One Industrial-Park’ policy, the Stimulus Package for distressed companies, the facilitation of investments into new strategic anchor industries such as automotive and vehicle assembly, pharmaceuticals, garments, textiles, and the exploitation of our bauxite, iron ore and manganese resources.
“Under the Stimulus Package, two hundred and thirty-seven million dollars ($237 million) has been disbursed to 16 companies, with an additional thirty-five (35) being considered for support,” President Akufo-Addo said.
